Upcoming Events

Note:  In the interest of privacy contact information for members of the congregation mentioned below has been omitted.  Necessary information can be obtained from the church office (604-942-9812).

Daily Readings - Daily Bible readings are available here (scroll down page to find link).  Readings also are listed in the Sunday bulletins.

Canning Jars - The ACW would appreciate any jam and pint canning jars you may have and don't need.  They will be used for the Christmas Craft Sale.  Please give to any member of the ACW or Gail Shaw.

Prayer Warriors - St. Catherine's is now offering personal prayer in the library after the 8:30 AM service.  If you have someone or something on your mind and would like someone to pray with you, there will be prayer warriors in the library to confidentially offer prayer support.

Sunday Bible Study meets in the library on Sunday mornings after the service and coffee time for further study of the Sunday scriptures.  All are welcome.

Youth Bible Study - All young people are welcome.  We will use the Whole People of God curriculum. Basing the lessons on the same Bible readings as are used during the Church service allows all ages to focus on the same scripture passages so that follow-up conversations are natural and easy in a way not possible when children, adults, and youth are focused on different Bible stories. We will have an introductory session on Sunday, September 15, 2019,  with the first lesson to be on October 6 and continuing every two weeks thereafter.  You can read the material at https://www.wholepeopleofgod.com/.

Book Group meets from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the church library on the third Thursday of each month (except December, July, and August).  Next session will be October 17 when the group will discuss Monkey Beach by Eden Robinson.

Men's Breakfast - Fourth Saturday of the month, 8:30 AM at the Coquitlam Grill.

ACW Open House and BBQ - Note change in date - Saturday, June 22, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at ACW Place, 70128 Merritt Avenue, Burnaby.  Here is an opportunity to see first hand the ministry that takes place at ACW Place.  Donations for the BBQ gratefully accepted.

Camp Artaban - Registration is now open.  The summer programs will include some specialty camps.  Check our bulletin board for the complete summer schedule or see www.campartaban.com

Salal and Cedar Sacred Earth Camp - August 4 to August 16.  This is a 2-week long residential program for environmental justice leadership in British Columbia.  Applications are available at http://salalandcedar.com/

Day of the Seafarer - Tuesday, June 25, 4:00-7:00 PM at Mission to Seafarers Vancouver Port. Drop by and say thank you to seafarers in person, drop off a donation, or make a donation.  Seafarers bring us 90% of what we use in our daily lives.  Being away from home on the ocean and in distant ports contributes to their sense of isolation.  To know others are grateful and thinking of them gives them hope and encouragement.  Write a prayer of thanks to seafarers 'in a bottle' that will be put up in the centre for seafarers to see.
